If you’re struggling with an addiction and considering entering residential rehabilitation to start your recovery journey, you may be wondering how long it takes to complete the treatment.
In reality, there’s no definitive answer as every individual and their circumstances around addiction are unique and some may require treatment longer than others. On average, individuals tend to stay in residential rehab between 28 and 90 days, however, for some people it can take years as addiction is a complex disease.
At Acquiesce, we recognise that individuals and their addictions differ greatly, which is why we offer different lengths of treatment programmes depending on a person’s specific needs. We offer programmes that last:
- 28 Days
- 56 Days
- 84 Days
All treatment options include one to two weeks of detoxification to begin with. During this time, our team facilitates the safe removal of the addictive substance such as drugs or alcohol from your body and helps to manage the unpleasant symptoms of withdrawal.
Which Programme is Right for Me?
When choosing a programme, you’ll receive help from a recovery practitioner to help you decide which will give you the highest chance of long-term recovery. Many individuals think that if they just become substance free they will never need to use again and life will become better, prompting them to leave rehab after detox.
Unfortunately, for the majority this isn’t the case and all of the feelings and emotions which were previously suppressed by substances tend to come flooding back, becoming overwhelming and leading to a relapse shortly after they have left.
In order to help prevent relapse, you first need to address the psychological, physical, spiritual and social effects of addiction. At Acquiesce our highly trained and experienced team incorporates and delivers the latest based intervention alternative therapies and activities, providing the individual with the skills and tools for a much more sustainable recovery.
This includes a combination package, which inclined the12 steps and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based approaches, teaching the individual how to treat their addiction day-to-day on a practical level which in turn supports them to live by their new recovery focused code of behaviour in the future.
Your support from Acquiesce doesn’t end when you complete your residential treatment. As part of your package, we offer ongoing help and support for no additional cost and will keep in close contact with you for your first 3 months after you have left treatment to help to support you with your progress. You can also attend an aftercare group once per week for as long as you like.
Can I Stay in Rehab Longer If I Feel I Need To?
Our treatment programmes offer the flexibility to extend your treatment with us at any time during your stay. There is nothing worse than exiting treatment before you are ready to do so and potentially relapsing after all of your hard work.
