When looking at different options for rehabilitation, one of the biggest considerations many people have is the cost. In this guide, we’ll be taking a look at why private rehabilitation costs so much compared to free NHS services and what you’re getting for your money.
Why Should I Go Private When There Are Free Options?
In the UK, those struggling with addictions have free access to drug and alcohol services provided by the National Health Service (NHS), however, there are a number of reasons why private rehabilitation is a much better option for most.
One of the biggest issues many individuals find with the NHS services is that whilst they’re free, they aren’t easily accessible due to the long waiting lists to receive care. This means many don’t get the care they need in time and their addiction worsens.
Additionally, the treatment simply isn’t as thorough as it needs to be in order to maintain a successful recovery. Of all the people who accessed support with alcohol and substances via the NHS in 2019, only 4% actually received inpatient or residential support as this is only offered in very specific circumstances.
The success rates enjoyed by the best private rehab clinics are many times better than the rates achieved through NHS and community-based services according to a study published by the NHS’ National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse UK in 2012.
It also looked at the success rates of every private clinic across the UK and found that the best performing facilities achieve success rates of between 60% and 80% of individuals receiving residential treatment remained abstinent five years after completing their programmes.
Put simply, you stand a much better chance of achieving abstinence after five years by undergoing rehab at a private clinic. Over the years, drug rehab experts have affirmed, repeatedly, that residential treatment at a private clinic works better than any other treatment option available.
How Much Does Private Rehabilitation Cost?
At Acquiesce, we charge £5,500 for a 28 day residential placement including a 7 day medical detox if required.
What Do You Get For Your Money?
A New Lease of Life
We understand that many people are reluctant to fork out lots of money on treatment that they aren’t sure will even work or not, however, at Acquiesce we have a very high success rate, providing many people with a new lease of life that is invaluable to them.
A Thorough, Evidence Based Programme
Our success rates are so high thanks to our evidence based programme which addresses the psychological, physical, spiritual and social effects of addiction. We combine a range of evidence based interventions using alternative therapies and activities, all of which are delivered by our highly trained and experienced team.
We do this because we know that alcohol, drugs, gambling and other addictive behaviours are commonly used as methods of coping with a root issue they may be experiencing. Acquiesce uses the 12 Steps approach alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which, in combination, complement each other excellently.
The Core Programme includes a structured timetable that includes CBT, motivational interviewing, ITEO, psychoeducation, SMART recovery, 12 Steps and holistic therapies.
We also make sure the timetable includes a range of other activities, allowing individuals to take part in exercises and workshops such as yoga, meditation, healing therapies and social and leisure activities including bowling, walks, swimming and going to the cinema. Transport to and from the treatment facility and accommodation is fully included in the cost, so you won’t have to pay any extra.
A Highly Trained and Experienced Team
Throughout your time at Acquiesce, you will likely meet all of our fantastic team who are highly experienced and qualified in their roles underpinned by various governing bodies. This ensures that you can trust you will receive the highest quality of care with values of excellence and integrity.
Acquiesce provides a private, residential rehabilitation at our treatment centre in Bolton that features luxurious, single occupancy rooms, a maintained garden area, housekeeping and a spacious living area including a kitchen with all modern amenities, pots, pans and crockery and other great facilities to aid recovery.
All private bedrooms have a double bed and are furnished with plenty of wardrobes, drawers and storage space. There are also washing facilities available for your clothing.
The only thing you need to bring is your own clothes and money for food and sundries so please bring your bank or credit card or small amount of cash. A money management service is available should you feel that you require it
Acquiesce also offers a range of family support as we know that addiction never just affects the individual experiencing it and those closest to them are often greatly impacted too. By providing support for families of an individual with an addiction, we can help them to fully understand what addiction is and how recovery works.
This can help to clear up any confusion or misconceptions about addiction as well as potentially reducing any conflict surrounding it. Evidence also shows that including family as part of an individual’s treatment programme can be an incredibly important factor in the success of their treatment.
Your support from Acquiesce doesn’t end when you complete your residential treatment. As part of your package, we offer ongoing help and support for no additional cost and will keep in close contact with you for your first 3 months after you have left treatment to help to support you with your progress. You can also attend an aftercare group once per week for as long as you like.
